Test your invoice integration before going live. The AVTAX sandbox checks invoice data and tax totals, then returns unsigned UBL XML without contacting JoFotara.
Send your first sandbox invoice
- Create an account, generate a partner API key and arrange invoice allowance.
- Download the sample invoice JSON. Give each new invoice its own UUID.
- Submit it to the same invoice endpoint with
X-Sandbox-Mode: true.

Read the result
state: Submitted- Local validation passed; this is not government acceptance.
sandbox: true- No invoice was sent to JoFotara.
xmlSource: Sandbox- The returned XML is unsigned.
xmlBase64- Save the returned XML. Sandbox XML is not archived.
Repeat the same UUID and identical content to recover the result during the 90-day window without another allowance charge. An ordinary status GET does not return sandbox XML.

Check tax totals without using allowance
Send the same invoice body to POST /api/v2/invoices/verify-totals with your partner API key. This validates fields and calculates JOD totals without contacting JoFotara or consuming invoice allowance.
Move to live submission
Set sandbox mode to false and add the supplier’s Gov-Client-Id and Gov-Client-Secret. Use the supplier’s correct tax number and income-source sequence. Check the live response before treating an invoice as accepted.
This sandbox is provided by AVTAX for integration testing. It does not verify government credentials or guarantee that JoFotara will accept a live invoice.
